These are some of the games I've made music for!
Game Soundtracks 🎵🕹️
ABATHOR (2024)
2D hack & slash platformer by Pow Pixel Games.
An adrenaline-fueled soundtrack blending epic metal energy with a retro aesthetic inspired by the classics of the 80s and 90s.
Built with a palette of Mega Drive, chiptune, 8/16-bit, and some modern sounds.
MYSTERY OF THE MISSING CHOCCOLI
(TBA)
A cute indie 2D adventure about restoring all the stolen Choccoli (that’s chocolate-flavoured broccoli!). Still WIP, and set to release for PC.
DUNG DUNG DUNGEON (2022)
Jam game, quite fun to spend some time on.
Music is mostly EDM, designed to keep you moving and banging your head.
OKAYMON! (2024)
A card game that mixes Pokémon and the NBA… and absolutely nails it. Each Pokémon type is reimagined as a basketball player style, creating a surprisingly innovative combination.
Same for music: blending retro Game Boy-style tracks with Afro-American-inspired genres like jazz, funk, R&B, and hip-hop. Expect plenty of solos and some really fun surprises!
UNUSED SONGS (2021/25)
Some unused songs for previous projects that weren't released.
ROADTRIP (2021)
Sadly, this exploration game is no longer available — but its music lives on! Each location had its own theme, inviting players to simply explore and enjoy.
Some testimonials
David Garay (Pow Pixel Games)
“Talent, commitment, passion… that’s what we all want for our project, and what I found working with Gastón (Gatex).
Talent is not only about creating quality music, but also about understanding the purpose and reaching the listener. With every track we’ve made, it hasn’t only touched me, but also the people who have listened to his music in Abathor.
I’m now on my second project with him, and even today, he still manages to surprise me with what he’s capable of.”
Evan Spellman (solo dev)
Gregory Nimmo (Puca Labs)
“Never in my wildest dreams did I expect to meet somebody so talented in my early days of learning game development.
I was searching for other beginners to collaborate with when I came across Gatex. I was so surprised somebody of his calliber wanted to work with me.
Now many years later in our professional career and we have had the chance to work together again and I am constantly impressed with his continuous professionalism and creativity.
And most importantly communicating with him is an absolute joy!”
"Gatex was fantastic to work with and someone I look forward to collaborating with in the future.
Whether my directions were precise and specific, vague and nebulous, or left completely in his hands to come up with an idea, he delivered each and every time. He's a real talent whose ability to create quality music across any genre is equaled only by the speed at which he does it.
The absolute best - truly."
